One City. Three Completely Different Walks.

Baku’s streets carry medieval memory, twentieth-century ideology and the wealth of the world’s first oil boom.

Start with the UNESCO-listed Old Town, examine how Soviet architects reshaped the capital, or follow the oil barons and industrial pioneers who transformed Baku into a cosmopolitan city.

Every route is led by a local guide who connects buildings and monuments with the people, politics and everyday life behind them.

Origins

Old walls, caravan routes, palaces and the social life of Icherisheher.

02

Ideology

Constructivism, Stalinist grandeur, Modernism, mosaics and memory.

03

Transformation

Walk with context

What a Local Guide Adds

Buildings become more meaningful when the politics, communities and personal stories around them come into view.

Connected History

02

Details You Would Miss

Notice inscriptions, symbols, architectural choices and courtyards that rarely appear in guidebooks.

03

Conversation, Not a Lecture

Ask questions and explore the parts of the story that matter most to your group.

04

Practical Local Insight

Leave with a clearer understanding of Baku and useful ideas for the rest of your visit.

Before you walk

Practical Notes

Book in advance and wait for confirmation before travelling to the meeting point.

Do I need to reserve?

Yes. Advance booking is required for all three walks, including the tip-based Old Town tour. Participation remains subject to confirmation.

How does the free walking tour work?

There is no fixed upfront price. At the end of the tour, you decide the contribution according to the experience and value provided by your guide.

Where do the walks begin?
